Our Story.

Founded in 2015 by a team with over 20 years’ experience, Evident enables countries and companies to produce, trade, and consume trusted, evidence-backed clean assets.

Based in Sheffield, a city that was at the heart of the Industrial Revolution, Evident has facilitated the issuance of more than 1 billion voluntary I-RECs in over 60 countries, supporting governments, producers, and users in the transition to a certified Clean Economy.

We combine the latest technology with human verification, to ensure that all sustainable energy sources and materials are verified through a double-layer verification process.

We are proud to have joined Xpansiv in late 2025, creating a global clean energy registry leader with over 300 GW of capacity. Evident’s role as an independent certification body and our governance under the I-TRACK Foundation remain unchanged. We continue to operate as an independent market facilitator for I-REC(E) and other products, under the ongoing oversight of the I-TRACK Foundation and in alignment with the International Attribute Tracking Standard. This governance structure ensures the highest levels of transparency and market integrity.
