Welcome to the Evident Impact Programme
Evident is proud to launch the Evident Impact Programme, an initiative designed to help drive social and environmental change by expanding the potential of international renewable energy certificates (I-RECs).
Through this programme, Participants and Beneficiaries can now redeem I-RECs for impact as an alternative to redeeming against consumption, enabling contributions to transformative initiatives that extend beyond traditional energy consumption offsetting.
This programme is part of Evident’s dedication to help shape a sustainable future, one in which I-RECs can have an additional application for meaningful change.
What is the Evident Impact Programme?
The Evident Impact Programme offers an alternative way to utilise I-RECs, transforming their redemption into a direct mechanism for advancing social and environmental goals.
By participating in the programme:
- I-RECs are removed from the market, ensuring they cannot be claimed against electricity consumption.
- The renewable energy benefit remains within the residual mix of the country of origin.
- 100% of redemption fees are donated, without any deductions, to selected causes aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This initiative provides an additional method by which I-RECs can deliver tangible benefits to communities and the environment while contributing to global sustainability objectives.

How to Get Involved
Participating in the Evident Impact Programme is simple:
Choose the Beneficiary
Select the Evident Impact Programme beneficiary during the redemption process.
Track Contributions
Use your existing redemption account or create a dedicated account to monitor your impact with ease.
Make a Difference
Redeem your I-RECs, there is no minimum threshold, and every contribution counts.
Impact Initiatives We Support
Funds raised through the Evident Impact Programme will support an initial group of causes selected for alignment with the SDGs.
These include:
- Energy Peace Partners: Expanding renewable energy solutions in conflict-affected regions.
- UNICEF: Advancing education, healthcare, and child welfare worldwide.
- Barefoot College International: Empowering rural communities through innovative, sustainable development projects.
If you have specific causes you would like us to consider, please share your suggestions at helpdesk@evident.global. Each proposal will be evaluated to ensure alignment with the programme’s objectives, including as a minimum that they directly address one or more SDG, be operated as a not for profit or charitable enterprise, be registered with all required authorities, and publish annual financial statements.
