Certifiably Brilliant! Life at Evident

Evident leads the charge towards NetZero, with each member of our team playing a pivotal role in certifying the Global Clean Economy.

In fact, we’ve grown by nearly 400% in the last two years and this path is continuing. We need new team members to help support our work with governments and organisations around the world, as we transition to a clean future.

But what’s it actually like to work for Evident? Let's hear from some of our team.

Travis Caddy, Business Development Director

Describe life at Evident in one word?

So many words spring to mind but I’d have to say rewarding above all else.

Before you joined Evident, why did you want to work here?

As an avid environmentalist, I wanted to pursue a career after university that had positive impact on both people and the planet. Working at Evident allows me to channel my passion for sustainability into meaningful mitigation against the climate crisis.

Since you joined Evident, what has surprised you the most?

The global footprint and impact Evident has is something to be proud of. Evident may not be a household name itself, yet, but our products and services are used by some of the largest companies in the world.

Evident champions diversity and inclusion in the workplace like I’ve never seen before. What unites us as a team is our common purpose to build a better planet for future generations.

Describe life at Evident for us in one word?

Insightful.

Before you joined Evident, why did you want to work here?

I only moved to Sheffield a couple of months before joining Evident. I was set on finding a way to make the step into the green and renewable sector after graduating from university, as I’m passionate about working in a field that is fulfilling and has a positive impact.

Moving to Sheffield, I felt at home in ‘The Green City’, so it felt very fitting that my next job would be involved in the environmental sector. The specifications of the job, opportunities for development, and working with international customers really drew me in. I was met with a cup of tea and a warm welcome and instantly felt comfortable in the office; it was reassuring to know that I was applying to be part of a company that values inclusivity, diversity, respect, and balance in the workplace.

It was clear to me that Evident’s impact was growing fast, and it was an exciting time to join. Evident’s expansive work remit, working with global partners and customers to provide the technical and robust support for certifying the clean economy, makes a significant positive impact, and ultimately, I felt that Evident’s mission aligns perfectly with my own goals to make a positive change in the climate crisis response.

What’s surprised you the most since you started working at the company?

The extremely high level of detail that Evident works to. Evident values a robust, due diligent, and meticulous approach to our work; and we know how critical it is that these values are upheld.

My team maintains this approach to ensure that new and existing customers receive the highest level of checks and excellent support through each stage of certifying their clean electricity. It is highly satisfying and rewarding to know that my job at Evident has such a far-reaching impact, with very real possibilities to support more innovative systems and green markets in the very near future.

Progressive.

Before you joined Evident, why did you want to work here?

I have a keen interest in the environment and wanted to use my skills and experience in software engineering to make a positive impact in that area.

Since you joined Evident, what has surprised you the most?

First of all, the speed at which the company has grown, coupled with the rapid steps forward in how the company utilises new, different, and innovative ideas and technologies.

The reach of Evident and the impact it has across the world is quite amazing considering the relatively small size of our team and our humble offices in Sheffield. It’s a nice feeling to know your work is helping others in different parts of the world.

Inspirational.

Before you joined Evident, why did you want to work here?

Imagine you had the opportunity to “be the change you wish to see in the world”, the liberty of living your dream, and the chance to play a part in saving our planet. Would you miss it?

So, when I realised Evident was one of the leading companies that care about our beautiful planet and future, I didn’t doubt it for a second. I couldn’t afford to miss it, not even for a million good reasons!

We already know that climate change is a significant challenge for the world, it will impact us no matter where we live, and it is already affecting us today. However, only a few pioneering companies provide authentic, certified solutions to mitigate climate change, and I passionately wanted to play a part in this invaluable journey with Evident.

Since you joined Evident, what has surprised you the most?

It’s a great joy to have the luxury of doing what you love and loving what you do, and I was so excited to work in a pioneering start-up that lets you fulfil your highest potential.

At first, I was surprised to know that authenticity and moral value overrule everything here in Evident, even the profit!

Yet, the greatest surprise for me was how much our customers and partners love Evident until I recently figured out that customers will never love a company until the employees love it first! I couldn’t be convinced more as it is hard not to love Evident!

I was even more amazed at how genuinely Evident created this, where our CEO and founders believe that the secret to creating a sustainable world is to value honesty over deception, transparency over secrecy, authenticity over fame, and ultimately, people over profit!
