Meet Yasmin Mouse, Evident’s Chief Financial Officer

‘I have a strong interest in NetZero and securing the future of the next generation’.

Meet Yasmin Mouse, Evident’s Chief Financial Officer.

With a focus on finance, Yasmin has worked in the energy industry for 17 years. Her career highlights include working with governments on some of the largest energy challenges in the last decade – including during the 2022 energy crisis.

She began her career as an accountancy apprentice, securing her accounting and finance qualifications whilst establishing her career. Yasmin swiftly advanced in her field, becoming Director of Finance at Elexon before joining Evident as Chief Financial Officer in October 2023.

As Yasmin reflected on her next career move, she was certain of a few things: she wanted to make a big impact, work with inspiring people, and establish the foundation of NetZero for the next generation. She found that opportunity with Evident.

In her interview, Yasmin discusses how her role allows her to pursue her twin passions of finance and promoting the use of clean energy across the globe.

What made you choose a career in finance?

I started my career 17 years ago working exclusively with finance teams in the energy industry, which then developed into managing areas such as Risk, Commercial, and Audit.

With a genuine passion for analysing data and using it to influence strategic decisions and gain insights, I believe numbers should always tell a story. What motivates me every day is having the chance to collaborate with dedicated people in a supportive culture who share a common goal: to deliver NetZero.

What inspired you to work at Evident?

I am passionate about making the world a better place for the next generation. What makes Evident stand out to me as an employer is the business’ genuine commitment to improve the lives of people and protect our planet, with 20 years of deep-rooted experience and thinking to build on.

What is a key piece of advice you would pass on to other women looking to enter a career in finance and/or sustainability?

Based on my personal experiences, I have three key pieces of advice:

1. Be confident in your abilities.

2. Embrace your unique perspective.

3. Actively seek opportunities to learn and grow as a professional.
