Starting as a marketing specialist, her strategic vision quickly led her into international business development roles. Rising through the ranks, she now leads global expansion initiatives at Evident as the Business Development Director, positioning Evident at the forefront of the clean economy.

Neda's career is a fusion of business expertise and a deep commitment to creating lasting, impactful change. Evident has provided the perfect platform for her to combine these passions, allowing her to make meaningful changes.

In this interview, we explore how Neda's role at Evident is shaping a better future for generations to come.

Can you describe your role at Evident and the impact it has?

My role as Evident’s Business Development Director involves more than driving business growth; it's about leading a transformative journey toward a sustainable future. This means spotting and seizing new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and exploring new revenue streams, all while guiding the company towards achieving its ambitious development goals.

I view my role as extending beyond driving Evident’s business growth; rather it is about fostering trust and transparency within the clean economy. I believe the impact of my role knows no boundaries – it holds nations, corporations and individuals accountable, while ensuring every voice is heard.

What sparked your passion for sustainability, and how has your understanding of the field evolved?

My passion for sustainability was sparked by the understanding that it’s not just about protecting the planet—it’s also about protecting people. Early in my career, I realised that environmental sustainability cannot be achieved without addressing poverty, gender discrimination and unequal access to resources.

Over time, I’ve come to understand that climate action must be multi-dimensional. Sustainable solutions emerge when we embrace diverse, holistic perspectives that go beyond business metrics. My previous experience in the power industry embedded my belief that success in the renewable energy space isn't solely measured by the megawatts produced, but by the lives we uplift along the way.

By aligning with Evident's core pillars—, people, planet and profit—I strive to ensure that our initiatives drive both environmental progress and social equity, creating a sustainable future where every voice is heard, and no one is left behind.

What guidance would you offer to young women aspiring to build a career in energy, STEM, or sustainability, and how can they overcome the unique challenges they may face in these fields?

Building a career in any STEM field is complex and challenging, but I firmly believe that there is room for everyone to make a meaningful impact.

My advice is simple:

Think globally but act locally. Always aim to bring a holistic perspective to the table - understand that sustainability isn’t just about technology or policy—it’s about people, equity and long-term resilience.

Never underestimate the value of your perspective. Build strong networks, seek out mentors who inspire you, and never be afraid to advocate for your seat at the table. Remember, your voice is crucial to creating a sustainable, equitable future and the world needs your voice now more than ever.
